Modern iPhones ship with multiple lenses, and each one serves a distinct purpose. The main wide lens handles most everyday shots, the ultra-wide captures landscapes and tight spaces, and the telephoto lens brings distant subjects closer without losing detail.
Computational photography does much of the heavy lifting behind the scenes, merging multiple exposures into a single image to improve dynamic range and low-light performance.
Knowing which lens is active — and switching manually when needed — often produces better results than relying entirely on automatic mode, especially in portraits or macro shots.
